During my time at Johnson County Community College working on my degree in Fashion Design & Technology I worked on several collections. This particular collection was inspired by the dramatic Burlesque genre which became popular in the 1950's and has recently seen a revival with performers such as Dita Von Teese. The art of the striptease allows entertainers to express themselves through beautiful garments and fun performances. The illusion of skin with timely placed feather fans, corsets, sheer fabrics, and erotic flourishes temps us with glamour and excitement.
The garments I designed include a full over-bust corset, a long-line bra and tap pants, a bra and garter belt, a ruffled bustle, and a sheer robe. I created hand drawn illustrations and flat sketches using Adobe Illustrator.
